Ron earned his bachelor’s degree and J.D. from the University of North Dakota and completed the Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island. After law school, Ron served as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the U.S. Navy, where he handled prosecution and defense in complex court-martial cases — including the high-profile DOD-IG “Tailhook” investigation — before retiring as a Navy Reservist after 20 years of service.
Ron’s public service continued when he joined the Scott County Attorney’s Office. Over the years, he has specialized in prosecuting sex crimes, domestic assaults, and high-level felonies.
